Busy Bertie

08/03/2011

I spend much of my time chasing around after Bertie! He is so fast, and loves climbing the stairs. I followed him with the camera today....he's so hard to capture though! I love his wild hair at the moment. People have asked if I'm going to get it cut. I say "No way!' Someone thought that Bertie was a girl at the weekend (he was wearing his leggings, so I saw her point). I corrected her, but rather than leave it there, her reply was "Very feminine!" Alright lady, enough!

  2. So very cute! I must admit, I've been guilty of guessing the wrong gender too. But then again, when my daughter was Bertie's age, everyone thought she was a boy (wearing pink). Nice. haha. I love Bertie's hair the way it is. Rocker chic!

  3. Hi Kerry.
First, fantastic blog!! I love the pics of your home, and it's great to see beautiful design and ideas with room for children's play and stuff!!

Sencondly, I know how you feel chacing your son around your home!! I have a 1 year old son, Holger, who has just learned to run!! He's crazy, always climbing all our funitur and througing everything around. But that's boys I guess, and I wouldn't want it any other way!!
    Have a great day!

  8. Hello, what a silly woman! She would probably have her son with a short back and sides and wearing a suit! I had someone woman tell me my son was too old to be breast fed and never in public.... charlie was 10 months old! I mean really!! She then went on to say a child who can wear shoes doesnt need his mother breast anymore... a switched off after that. x

  9. How cute is that chase behind Bertie!

Until I was about 3 everybody thought I was a boy, because I didn't have much hair and the hair I had was very blonde. But now I never get mistaken for a boy, so it'll probably get better in a few years. ;)

  13. A stranger referred to my little then 12 month old daughter as a boy and when I casually said she was a girl, she persisted with a surprised 'Really? She has boy face!'. And there I was thinking they all looked like babies rather than boys and girls. Kellie xx PS Bertie looks very good on his legs!

  14. Aww I can understand why you dont want to cut his baby hair! it's so cute! Nah he's definitely got a boy's face anyway. I remember everyone thought my little brother was a girl when he was a baby with all his blonde curls!

  18. Ha ha, you tell her! Some people don't know when to stop. He doesn't look like a girl but in my opinion it's not really an insult. At this age if a boy looks like a girl it's probably because he's good looking.
    ;)

  20. My oldest boy was often mistaken for a girl when he was younger. I always took it as a compliment.

  21. I think your Bertie looks gorgeous!! There are always people around to tell you how to dress or educate your kids... I really hate that! When my daughter was a baby I often dressed her in what was sold as "boys" clothes... it always made me laugh when somebody thought she was a boy, just because she was dressed in comfy dark coloured clothes?!!

  22. Bertie looks gorgeous -- I love what he is wearing too. I have a 20 month old boy and am desperate for his hair to grow but I think he is destined to always have short hair. He looks like a little blond Hitler at the moment (minus the tache) as he has developed a big old side parting!

Can I ask you where you got Bertie's trousers from and where you got the lovely grey carpet too?

  23. MissMapp, Bertie's trousers are from good old H&M, and the carpet came from a local carpet place. I'm afraid I don't know the make of it, but know the colour was 'charcoal.'
Thanks for your nice comment, which made me laugh!! I love a side parting!

  26. haha i hear ya, on both counts, little miss is a busy bee always on the go and she has been misunderstood for a boy many times, i guess she doesn't wear a lot of pink nor dress, sometime i even go with it and tell them his (her) name is lenny. so silly.
