Friday

Pretty sunsets on film. Thanks for stopping by this week. Have lovely weekends and I’ll see you in August! Don’t forget the sale in my shopedy-shop :)

Arranging

Bertie has ‘discovered’ Maisie’s ‘Littlest Pet Shop’ toys and he loves them! I’m so glad to have kept hold of her old toys. These little friends are magnetic, so Bertie likes to line them all up and make them to stick to Maisie’s bed. This does mean that he wants to spend a lot of time in her room though (something she isn’t always so keen on, but she is incredibly patient)!
In other news, I’m in a lull. The weather is crappy, and the dull days remind me of winter darkness. Bertie still sleeps really badly, and I get barely any sleep, which is affecting my creativity. Hmph. Just a moan out loud (mol) Ha.

Around The Heath On Film

Trying out my dad’s old camera (Miranda MS-1 super) on Hampstead Heath. Bertie and I headed up there after dropping Maisie at school one morning last week. I knew Bertie would fall asleep, so my plan was to take my book, a blanket, a few nibbles and grab a few rare moments to myself. But of course, very  predictably, I laid out the blanket, reached for my book and he woke up! Typical! We still had a lovely time roaming around though. Bertie seems at his happiest here, exploring and playing under the trees. I love it!

p.s. Bertie does have two hands...in that last picture, it looks a bit like he lost one somewhere on the Heath...those pesky dogs!

p.p.s. I highly recommend a visit to the Vivian Maier exhibition if you are in London. We went on Sunday, and it was superb. I’d like to have seen more of her self portraits and colour photos, but all in all, I’m so pleased we made it; I have been completely mesmerised by the Maier discovery. The last day is this Sunday 24th.

Yes, I know I keep changing the colours of my blog. I'm addicted to fiddling about with it and get bored easily; it's the way I am *slightly embarrassed*

Additions

Donna Wilson plates and a neon yellow Breo watch. Looking good on my wall and on my wrist; except I didn’t photograph the watch on my wrist because my hands looked too old. :(
The plates came from a great little kids boutique, called Hello Bubba. The watch was from Amazon, a bargain at £12.99. I haven’t worn a watch for probably 10 years now. I lost my last one in a club after an alcoholic beverage or few...oooops! Before that, if I didn’t have my watch on, I felt naked! I wonder if I will feel that way again once I get used to wearing it? Anyway, I’m thinking aloud and probably sending you to sleep.....

Happy weekends! See y’all next week :)

Forest Gump

Bertie runs just about everywhere he can (which reassures me that his leg is completely better now; for anyone new here, Bertie fractured his leg a couple of months ago). Look at his funny little face...he he!

Kite Hill

Recently Famapa introduced me to Kite Hill (Parliament Hill) on Hampstead Heath and I was blown away by the views. Maisie, Bertie and I took a stroll up there on Saturday and it was so nice. People were picnicking, singing, and there was even a man playing on his french horn. I always like to stand there and take a moment to absorb the view, imagining I’m about to take off and float away over London (except I’m scared of heights). I hadn’t realised how close to the Heath we were when we moved. What a mega-bonus! I think this has to be one of my favourite spots in London. How about you; do you have a favourite place you like to visit and could never tire of?

Rainy Thursday

It’s raining. Hmph. On the day my new sandals arrived. Hmph. I got absolutely soaked to the skin at Maisie’s sports day (which had to be stopped half way through due to the rain). But still, Bertie and I have been hanging out in Maisie’s room this afternoon. She has her own stereo now and Bertie likes to dance to her Jackson Five cd (ok, I like to as well).
I thought I’d take a few pictures in Maisie’s room. It’s a cheerful little place to be on a rainy day. The cards are by Dicky Bird. We like Dicky Bird! She also has some of her favourite pictures framed; that’s us b.b (before bertie) under the Eiffel Tower. The cloud above the mirror was a joint effort by Maisie and Dan and was made from one of my old sweatshirts (which if I’m honest, I kind of regret donating).
Oh, and that’s me up there (my hair frizzed in the rain). I hope you’re all dry!

All The Font Of The Fair

The steam fair came to town over the weekend, and we went along with Famapa and her little boy, Omar. It was brimming with colour, sweet smells, and fantastic fonts! I’d like to have captured more, but it’s hard with little ones in tow. Inquisitive toddlers and rides don’t mix...too many hazards. My brain was quite frazzled from overstimulation come the end! Fun though. Maisie went back there in the evening with Dan, and they managed to go on all the big rides that she didn’t get to go on with me....1. because Bertie was there, and 2. because I’m a big wuss!

Legs

Helloooo and good day to you! Am I mean for dressing Bertie in these? My husband, Dan thinks so, but I think they are incredibly sweet. Nice and cool for warm days too. One of Bertie’s favourite things at the moment is to run around pretending to be on my phone. He is hilarious, and so loud! He babbles with such enthusiasm and passion, for whatever it is he is trying to say (it sounds pretty important)! As always I have to chase him around with the camera, hence the out-of-focus-ness; although to me this makes for a perfectly captured moment.
