At Home

08/03/2012

I mentioned we’ve been making some changes at home. We are getting there, but still not quite done! Here are a few pictures of some tidier/finished areas! Elephant from Happy Home :)

New desk lamp (Maisie has my old one for her new desk). This is an Ikea one. Something I’ve been working on there in the background too....

My beautiful Cable And Cotton lights - there will be plenty of photos of these me thinks!

Some things we’ve had a while, but have been moved around. ‘Badger' plate‘Badger' print‘House’ card.

I’m feeling much better about our home now. It’s pretty small for us, but we’re trying to embrace the fact (kind of!) as the location is so nice. We had to sacrifice space for location/area when we made the move to London. I’m glad we did it that way around though, despite my weekly rants about having no space!

Anyone else attempting some spring home refreshing? I recommend it!

Have a nice day :)

  1. Kerry, for such a small space, it just looks lovely! Our house is tiny, and there is nowhere to put anything, so I know how you feel. As for Spring cleaning, well I'm getting the paintbrush out this weekend! x

    1. Ha, yes, I try to think of it as cosy too. It’s just when it’s in a mess it looks so much worse!

Our house is pretty spacious, but it seems like that's even more difficult to keep it tidy :)

    1. Thanks Oon :) I know what you mean, we had more space before and it took a lot longer to clean. Just one more room would be nice, and a bigger kitchen......etc!! :)

  12. just wanted to say - i love your blog and i know exactly how you feel about moving to london!! we moved here a month ago from brussels and pay more rent for a place a third of the size and so much less architectural charm. sometimes i wonder what we have done, but london is amazing and my job is so much better so it's worth it i suppose!

    1. Hi Hannah, thank you for your nice comment. It’s so frustrating how much it costs to rent in London. We were in Devon before and lived somewhere a lot bigger and owned it! However, we love living in London and there are so many other advantages of living here. Good to hear you are happy here, despite the living situation :)

  15. well it's all looking lovely! We have had our hall skimmed after we stripped the awful wallpaper so now we have to decorate! I already have pictures ready to hang etc, the putting up of pictures and arranging of stuff after decorating is my FAVOURITE bit! Hopefully later in the year we will have saved for new carpet and the it will be all done. Keep up the good blogging!

I love the updates and I think the smaller the spaces the more creative you have to be and I think you are nailing that hammer on the head!
I am always moving things around and despite the frustration of our rental I'm in the process of prettifying it...this includes finally framing my seventy tree Big Drop. Finally :) xx

  20. Your attention to detail Kerry is always spot on...so lovely. i move things around/ rearrange alot in our house too. It is good for the soul... We are very grateful to have a spacious home, but not much in it, which is nice in some ways. Everything always looks so scandi on white walls, and with an odd lucky finds of retro furniture mixed with ikea and prints from cool blogger girls it's getting there. i move our kitchen table and chairs alot, so when my boys come home from school they have a good laugh...i think the green slogan should read reduce, reuse, recycle and finally rearrange, yay.
