Good morning! How are you doing? So this was our apartment. We stayed close to the
Norrebro and
Osterbro areas and near the very pretty
Botanical Gardens. Once I had got over the fact that I wasn’t staying in a
Potato Rows house (damn you Google Street View), I was very happy with our crib. It was in a typical, old apartment block with a central courtyard full of bikes and children’s toys (and sleeping babies in prams!). Very quiet and comfortable. The light was beautiful - huge windows and I loved the white, painted floorboards. Very photogenic! We booked through
Airbnb and would definitely look to them for future trips.
Sidenote - That little guitar hanging on the stairs belonged to the owner’s son, but Bertie became very attached and was seriously ‘wocking out’ as he calls it. He loved it so much, Dan just found and won one on Ebay. It is extremely loud and I have a feeling Dan might live to regret his purchase!
I think you look right at home there! That place is amazing. Seriously, Eames, Kartell and Panton? And what is that green bench Dan is sitting on? x
ReplyDeleteYes, it was rather lovely - a bit more girly than my usual taste, but a nice change. Yes, they were all there! The green bench looked was a painted, vintage find me thinks, It fitted in perfectly x
DeleteHi Kerry, totally missed you were in Copenhagen. What a shame otherwise I would have loved to meet you and show you around! Your photos look amazing. It is always funny to see other people's view upon the place you live.
ReplyDeleteHave good day!
Anne Kristine
Anne, it would have been great to meet you and have a tour - I did think about you while we were out there and wondered where you might be in the city!
DeleteHave a nice day too :)
p.s. missing your posts x
Lovely snaps, and what a cute little "wocking" boy. I really love your old apartment, so much soul! Have a happy day.
ReplyDeleteHa, thanks! Yes, that describes the place perfectly. Have a happy day too :)
DeleteLove the deep window sills, looks like such a relaxing space.
ReplyDeleteYes, the windows in general were beautiful! It was very relaxing. Makes my home feel very cluttered!
Deletelooks lovely kerry!
ReplyDeletejust read the wee link on potato rows-I think the streets look great-crowded with picnic benches and wendy houses
ReplyDeleteoh they do - so inviting!
DeleteLove love love, I want to book in right now, please tell me where berries trousers are from. I seriously am going to ave a look now for a holiday, you have inspiredme no end xxx
ReplyDeleteThought you might like it! Bertie’s trousers came from here http://www.loveitloveitloveit.co.uk/
DeleteBut a while ago, so not sure they still have them :(
Glad you’re feeling inspired. Have a lovely day xx
Hi kerry, you copenhagen pictures are very lovely and they make me so nostalgic about going back there! Love this apartment too, it reminds me a lot of the one of my friends, very danish i would say. Hey, i was very happy to see you mentioned in a dutch magazine 'vt wonen' which is a very good one for interiors and design :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Stefania, thank you - I hope you’ll return one day :) Yes, I agree, very Danish!
DeleteYes, I heard I was in VT Wonen. I’m trying to get my hands on a copy - if you know of a way, let me know! :) x
Hi Kerry, any luck in finding a copy of VT WONEN? Don't know if my mail was helpful, anyway I managed to get you a copy. If you let me know your address I will mail it to you.
Delete:-)
Didn't it make you want to come back and whitewash everything and live super minimally?! It did me!
ReplyDeleteI know! It so did! This apartment was quite feminine - I preferred the look of the one you stayed in to be honest, but it was really nice to have something different ;)
DeleteAhhh, so beautiful! Thoroughly enjoying your Copenhagen photos and really considering visiting. Did you find it all relatively small child friendly? Jude xx
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you Jude x
DeleteI would definitely recommend it - there are playgrounds all over the place and the parks are lovely. The pavements are nice and wide and you could hire bikes too. It’s so family friendly there. Even nice little touches such as mobiles hanging over public baby change rooms. Nice x
Lovely images!!! Have the best Tuesday. /Elina
ReplyDeleteThanks Elina - you too x
DeleteJust a quickie your link to airbnb goes back to the potato houses. Will you email me the details of your apartment. I couldn't see it on their website. I'm now trying to persuade Sean we need a few days there in August. If you ever want a clear out of Berties clothes Raffy is 6 months behind him and I will pay good prices. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet - just corrected the link, which just goes to the Airbnb home page.
Deletestill trying to decide if we want a third, so if we decide no, I’ll let you know about clothes!!!
Will email you when I get a mo :) xx
What a fabulous apartment! Great find Kerry. Your photos are just gorgeous. We are a guitar household here - the Mr plays acoustic and banjo and the little one plays electric and bass... it can get very noisy ;) Thanks for the link... just off to have a peek :) Kx
ReplyDeleteThanks Kylie - Excellent! It’s just me that plays acoustic in our house, but growing up, mum mum and dad played and my dad is a banjo player too! xx
DeleteWhat an amazing looking place. Pictures like these are precisely why i was tempted by white floors. i put them in our little studio out the back. . . then realised dog and mud and children and white floors are not a happy combo. but they ARE very photogenic!
ReplyDeleterachel xo
Ah that’s the trouble - dogs and children, not too compatible! But so photogenic!
DeleteGreat apartment, so bright too, awesome find : ) and yess! I think he is going to regret it haha! your son is so cute, thanks for sharing!, have a lovely day! xo
ReplyDeleteit was so bright - already regreting the guitar - ha! But it’s nice to see him enjoying it. He has some killer moves! Thank you x
Deleteooh err very nice! glad you had luck with airbnb! i've had one successful stay with them and have attempted to book places on four other trips only to have the hosts not respond or have them tell me it's booked when their calendar says it's free! many frustrating hours in front of the computer! anyhoo looks like you had an ace time over there!
ReplyDeleteOh bums you had a bad experience. We initially wanted to go to Stockholm and I must admit, we couldn’t get anything there after several attempts - hence going for Copenhagen in the end! But yes, it was ace!
Deletei love the touches of green through-out this apartment and the white floors too. lovely images. here's to all the 'wocking out' times ahead : )
ReplyDeleteYes, me too - I think the owner is a big fan of bluey-green! Lots of wocking out going on here! :)
DeleteLoolks GREAT! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Stephanie
I love the panton flowerpot light.
ReplyDeleteLovely and simple looking apartment, makes me wish I had floorboards to paint white.
Good luck with your noisy little rocker :)
Yes me too - there were two of them - I’d definitely like some in my home one day - and the floorboards were so nice! Thank you x
Deletebuying that guitar will be the biggest regret of your life.
ReplyDeletejust sayin'
;-)
What a beautiful picture off you and Bertie in your previous post about Copenhagen! Looks like you really had a wonderful time there! I've been there once and I loved it, although we didn't stay at such a lovely apartment... Maybe next time...
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you. We had such a nice week and were very lucky with the apartment. Next time! x
DeleteAmazing place and beautiful pictures! the green color in most of them is really nice. Greetings from Argentina!
ReplyDeleteYes, the greeny-blues were lovely - the perfect colour to compliment the white floors. Greetings from London! Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteKerry, the pics look fantastic and I'm so glad you had such a great time. I was actually due to be back there this past weekend and had to decline due to the impending birth of our little girl in Sept. Fiscally it was the right call, but at least I'm enjoying armchair travel through your pics and stories!
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt! Well you never know, you might get to go out there as a family of four instead - that would be rather nice!
Deletei think he will too :) !! the apartment is all sorts of amazingness. what a great place to spend some time. i love the simplicity with splashes of colour. xo
ReplyDeleteHehe! It was fab, thank you :) x

ReplyDeleteThanks Georgia - yes, I’m quite addicted to Airbnb - you can go anywhere!!! Oh how exciting you’re coming to the UK!
DeleteThanks Kerry, I'm so looking forward to the trip - it'll be my first time in London and for 2 weeks hooray!

Hi Anna, thank you very much indeed! :)
DeleteHi Kerry
ReplyDeleteLoved the apartment! and especially how close it seems to be to everywhere. Would you recommend that specific one? I'm looking to go in Nov with my husband and little mr, so have started looking at Airbnb (amazing site) which apartment did you have? (if you don't mind me asking?). :)
Hi Lori - great to hear you’re going over there :)
DeleteWould you like to email me theseventytree@yahoo.co.uk - I can give you some information then :)
