Copenhagen ♡ Breakfast For Three

Hello and happy new week to you (a day late, I know). I am spending time away from the computer at the moment because I have a bad back. I’ve started seeing a chiropractor, which I think is helping, but I really don’t know what to do with myself! I have sooo much work to do as well. What a nuisance. Last night the only movement that soothed my back was shuffling up and down the room. Dan said I looked like a Thunderbird! I am extremely freaked out by the Thunderbirds, so this was not good! Hmph!

Aaaanyway, back to Copenhagen - It was a bit of a walk from where we were staying, but we had a very tasty breakfast at Granola - heightened by the fact that Bertie was having a nap, so the three of us were able to enjoy our food without interruptions (it’s ok, we bought him a bagel once he woke up - he doesn’t miss out). It was a little chilly, but the sun came out to join us. I always enjoy a bit of people watching, so this was an ideal opportunity. Can anyone tell me why a lot of the Danish youth were wearing sailor hats? Was it a finishing school thing? We were intrigued.

The only disappointing thing about this breakfast was that I had hoped to call into a couple of shops on this street - one of them being Playtype, but nothing opened until 12pm and we had a train to catch. Boo.

Do you see in the second picture that even Bertie’s buggy snuggle has triangles on it? Taking it a bit too far? Can’t help it!

Have a splendid day :)

  4. Haha, yes - the sailor hats is because they finished high school. It's an old Danish tradition. They celebrate by driving around the city for a whole day, from home to home in big trucks decorated with flowers and banners.
    Kind regards
    Sofie Maj, Copenhagen :-)

By the way, I also love Granola. I'm glad you experienced that on your trip to Copenhagen :-)

  7. That breakfast looks perfect, like a little breakfast buffet packed onto one little plate. I had a back op last summer so I can sympathise with you. Backs are v much neglected till they get buggered up. I even now for get/don't bother to do my stretching and pilates until my back flares up and then I'm at it like a mad woman. Hope yours gets better soon. X

  21. Great pics as always Kerry. It took me a bit of getting used to breakfasts and brunches there because they are so continental. I've been so indoctrinated with English breakfasts, a colonial staple this side of the world. But those danishes and pastries, and butter, oh, that glorious butter! Copenhagen aside sorry to read about your back, hope there is some relief soon... Thunderbirds doesn't sound like much fun... but I believe they are go :)

    1. Thanks Matt - ah yes, the ‘continental’ breakfast! I do enjoy them - more so than an English one (which of course has its place though!)
Thanks for your kind wishes :)

  22. Bad back - Alexander technique is fantastic & recommended by the BMA for work related (eg sitting at a computer endlessly) problems. Recommend Hilary King over in stoke newington, tho it's a transport challenge getting from crouch end to there.. Am sure there will be someone closer.. Good luck! Lovely pix, stories etc, but I would expect no less.. Ps, know you live in crouch end because I went to the pop up shop - am not a stalker!

    1. Hi Jade! Thank you :) It’s ok, I didn’t think you were a stalker! The chiropractor is helping - going to one in Muswell Hill. I haven’t tried the Alexander technique, but have heard of it. Will do some research. It’s a bit of a pain to get to Stokey, but I’m sure I could manage it! :) x

    1. Thank you! I have a Canon 550D with a 50mm 1.8 lens, which is nice to use. Editing wise, sometimes photoshop, but I actually rather like the new Picmonkey. I like the ‘Film’ setting which I add a bit of and then sometimes layer another, like ‘polaroid’ on top. I also adjust contrast, exposure etc. Hope this helps xx
