A Day At Home

Good Monday. I hope you are all well and happy :) Yesterday, I didn’t leave the house at all. And it felt really good! Sometimes a home day is just what one requires. I did some cleaning and pottering and I’d like to say that I made English muffins and bread.....but gah, it was Dan of course darn it! He rustled up that tasty lunch you see there - poached eggs, bacon, English muffins, hollandaise sauce., plus some dark chocolate for moi (Green & Blacks made that) - fatting up on a Sunday! Bertie even swept up afterwards, see? Well trained (hmmm). The River Cottage ‘Bread' book is highly recommended by Dan, for those of you who like to bake bread and other bread-related goods.

Completely irrelevent, but I thought I would share a little conversation I had with Dan (who is three years younger than me) yesterday...

Me -  “I’m worried I look too old for you and I’m going to out-age you.”
Him - “Don’t worry, I like mid-century.”

!!!

Have a nice day! And as mentioned before, you can enter Em of The Beetle Shack’s giveaway to win one of my prints :) What yo' waiting for?

  3. hahahaha! Bloody cheek! I've actually had the same conversation with my Dan, I make him have a beard which ages him. Anyway... you look young and beautiful... no need to start to feel like this! You are only as old as the man you feel! ;o) (my theory anyway!) xx

  10. Homemade English muffins - yum! I'd love to bake bread but I never seem to get around to trying. I don't eat wheat, only spelt, so I really should try make my own spelt loaves as they are so expensive to buy from the bakery!

It looks like you had a lovely home day. I had one of those today - Everly napped for 3 hours (in one stretch! This is a rarity) and I managed to get two loads of washing done - yay! :)

Dan's comment made me giggle :) I force Mark to have a beard for this very purpose (he is older than me, but looks like a boy when he is clean shaven)!

Thank you also for your comment on our bedroom/sleeping arrangements - it's comforting to know we aren't the only ones! We eventually would like to transition Everly into her own room, as luckily we have the extra space, but until now we will just have to keep going with the 'lounge aka wardrobe' situation!

    xx

  27. Great pictures like usual, the last one cracked me up! Your bread looks delicious!
Ah aging... it seems to always be a difficult thing for us women... As for me, I've been fighting with my grey hair (how awful is that?!) and a few wrinkles (how dare they come "that early"?), but I'm 11 years younger than my man so I'm the one liking mid-century (and for real now, almost, ah ah)
