Copenhagen ♡ Our Apartment 1

Good morning! How are you doing? So this was our apartment. We stayed close to the Norrebro and Osterbro areas and near the very pretty Botanical Gardens. Once I had got over the fact that I wasn’t staying in a Potato Rows house (damn you Google Street View), I was very happy with our crib. It was in a typical, old apartment block with a central courtyard full of bikes and children’s toys (and sleeping babies in prams!). Very quiet and comfortable. The light was beautiful - huge windows and I loved the white, painted floorboards. Very photogenic! We booked through Airbnb and would definitely look to them for future trips.

Sidenote - That little guitar hanging on the stairs belonged to the owner’s son, but Bertie became very attached and was seriously ‘wocking out’ as he calls it. He loved it so much, Dan just found and won one on Ebay. It is extremely loud and I have a feeling Dan might live to regret his purchase!

  1. I think you look right at home there! That place is amazing. Seriously, Eames, Kartell and Panton? And what is that green bench Dan is sitting on? x

    1. Yes, it was rather lovely - a bit more girly than my usual taste, but a nice change. Yes, they were all there! The green bench looked was a painted, vintage find me thinks, It fitted in perfectly x

  2. Hi Kerry, totally missed you were in Copenhagen. What a shame otherwise I would have loved to meet you and show you around! Your photos look amazing. It is always funny to see other people's view upon the place you live.

  7. Hi kerry, you copenhagen pictures are very lovely and they make me so nostalgic about going back there! Love this apartment too, it reminds me a lot of the one of my friends, very danish i would say. Hey, i was very happy to see you mentioned in a dutch magazine 'vt wonen' which is a very good one for interiors and design :-)

    1. I know! It so did! This apartment was quite feminine - I preferred the look of the one you stayed in to be honest, but it was really nice to have something different ;)

  9. Ahhh, so beautiful! Thoroughly enjoying your Copenhagen photos and really considering visiting. Did you find it all relatively small child friendly? Jude xx

I would definitely recommend it - there are playgrounds all over the place and the parks are lovely. The pavements are nice and wide and you could hire bikes too. It’s so family friendly there. Even nice little touches such as mobiles hanging over public baby change rooms. Nice x

  11. Just a quickie your link to airbnb goes back to the potato houses. Will you email me the details of your apartment. I couldn't see it on their website. I'm now trying to persuade Sean we need a few days there in August. If you ever want a clear out of Berties clothes Raffy is 6 months behind him and I will pay good prices. xxx

  13. What an amazing looking place. Pictures like these are precisely why i was tempted by white floors. i put them in our little studio out the back. . . then realised dog and mud and children and white floors are not a happy combo. but they ARE very photogenic!

  15. ooh err very nice! glad you had luck with airbnb! i've had one successful stay with them and have attempted to book places on four other trips only to have the hosts not respond or have them tell me it's booked when their calendar says it's free! many frustrating hours in front of the computer! anyhoo looks like you had an ace time over there!

    1. Oh bums you had a bad experience. We initially wanted to go to Stockholm and I must admit, we couldn’t get anything there after several attempts - hence going for Copenhagen in the end! But yes, it was ace!

  22. Kerry, the pics look fantastic and I'm so glad you had such a great time. I was actually due to be back there this past weekend and had to decline due to the impending birth of our little girl in Sept. Fiscally it was the right call, but at least I'm enjoying armchair travel through your pics and stories!
