It was Dan’s Birthday, so where else does one go for a day of childish fun, but the
Tivoli?! He and Maisie (my completely fearless daughter) had a fantastic time on all the
hideously scary rides. It wasn’t too busy there either as the weather was pretty wet and miserable, but we made the most of it all the same. Bertie went on a few little rides too, which he loved and I ate two portions of chips, a hotdog and some candy floss! I am not one for rides at all - hooray for Dan in these situations! I tried not to be a misery there (especially as it was Dan’s special day), but it really wasn’t my cup o’ tea! Lovely to see my children and husband happy though! I think you can clearly see the joy on Bertie’s face in those pictures, bless his little cottons!
I find it is better to be a spectator too and what better way than to eat chips :) I guess Dan is a big kid at heart like most dads. I hate fair grounds. I have a very bad memory of the waltzer on a first date! p.s. Love Maisie's punky look if that is the right word :)
ReplyDeleteYes indeed Andrea! Dan is like my third child! Interested to hear your first date ‘waltzer’ story!!! And yes, Maisie is officially a ‘punk’ !! :) x
DeleteOh Bertie is just so cute :) Looks like you really had an amzing time - good thing to be in Copenhagen the week before the holiday starts here - so it's not too busy :)
ReplyDeleteHehe, thank you - it was great thank you. Yes, I think we picked a pretty good week as things were a lot quieter and I guess the weather puts some people off - not us! :)
DeleteLooks like a beautiful day! Love those chairs.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love the chairs too - even at a theme park, there is so much stylish design going on - not that it was anything like Disney - very tasteful, I’d say :)
DeleteThis looks like so much fun! Love how everyone is smiling in the pictures:)xx
ReplyDeleteYay it was for them! It was avery smiley day! :) x
DeleteChips and candyfloss is pretty great! That giraffe on the merry go round is awesome...think I would have chosen that too x
ReplyDeleteI agree! Yes, Maisie went straight for the giraffe - I agree. Good choice! x
Deleteperfect birthday for a little one :)
ReplyDeleteHehe, it was actually my husband’s birthday, but he acts like a little one anyway!
Deleteyour photos are absolutely fabulous
ReplyDeleteand it's nice to see everyone so happy.
xx
Ah, thank you very much :) We had a very happy week xx
DeleteMaisie is so.brave! Just looking at that vertical drop thing is making my stomach do flip-flops, chips are by far the better option! Lovely photos here
ReplyDeleteI know! That thing was practically in the sky! She has no fear at all! Clearly doesn’t take after me. Thank you :)
DeleteWell you need someone to document these things so your role as scaredy cat is essential. Loving the photos and all that lovely chocolate brown in this post. I so so so want to go to Copenhagen so am looking at all these posts with real vicarious pleasure.
ReplyDeleteExactly Sarah! Thank you - seemed fitting for the weather we had. I hope you’ll make it over there one day - sure you’ll love it x
DeleteOh, the memories these pictures bring to me! I've had one of the best vacations of my life in Copenhagen, and I sure did have fun in Tivoli. Such an amazing place! Thanks so much for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeletexx
Ah thank you Ria - I’m glad they bring back happy memories for you. It’s certainly a special place x
DeleteWow, I had nev really seen pics of your husband and it is incredible how much Bertie looks like him...Dan's profile on the 2nd picture espcially!
ReplyDeleteHehe, yes I know what you mean. He does look a lot like Dan! But blonde and blue eyed like me (not that I’m blonde anymore, but I used to be!) You wouldn’t think that Bertie is 1/4 Indian and 1/8 Burmese would you?!
DeleteLook like a great time!! your family look so happy, I don't like rides either, but my husband love all that stuff : ) we still have to see if our son love that too, beautiful photos! xo
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you - good job we have our husbands to do all the scary rides! x
DeleteLove these photos so much!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are fab.

ReplyDeletePs. Thanks for the link love (I'm going to have to lift my game now ;) x
It’s ok, it’s not the end! Just having a day off!! Very pleased to hear you’re enjoying them :) Your game is perfect - that’s why you’re on the list xx
DeleteLoverly photos of the trip- I espesh love the chairs, for some reason. Not that your kids and hub are not, like, the most photogenic and cute people EVER. Nice, nice, nice. And nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks maid :)
DeleteI know, those chairs were beauts! And yes, m’family are quite a photogenic bunch, but often chairs steal the show - especially Danish ones x
Ah thank you so much - good to hear it has helped you with your own travels. Have a relaxing weekend too x
ReplyDeleteYay I love Tivoli :) I once went on that drop ride while rather drunk and thought it wasn't scary at all, then took my little sis on it when sober and we were both terrified (she's not one for rides either!).
ReplyDeleteLove Maisie's smile on the giraffe and Bertie on his horse - too cute!
Haha - drunk on rides - that brings back memories! I totally can’t do rides at all - even roundabouts scare me!
