To Renovate?

This Malmo apartment would fall very much into the 'requires complete modernisation' category, but I love it just as it is! I imagine there are probably some very essential bits of 'modernising' to perform, but there is something so warm and inviting about the place. Look at the soft, golden light casting such a beautiful, warm glow over everything. I'd love to sit in there with the sun on my back. And I really like all the mis-matched, busy wallpapers too. I definitely wouldn't change a thing about the kitchen cupboards, that's for sure...how about this one Francesca? Does anyone agree, or do you think I'm mad? Via here.

The kitchen looks very like ours when we moved in 20 years ago! Except the units were a vivid green. I think with a bit of tweaking and modernising.. (the floor was a horrible lino), maybe it could have been passable today!

  6. I agree! The doors are of seriously good quality and the wallpapers play nicely together, although I might not be able to live in it myself for a long time with so lively walls all around.

Thanks for your blog. I don't need to buy interior magazines any more!

  11. oh my gosh I love this apartment. I'm in a 50's style apartment but they modernised most things and I really think it loses its charm. It's still looks good from the outside and the huge windows keep some of the charm.
