Kite Hill

Recently Famapa introduced me to Kite Hill (Parliament Hill) on Hampstead Heath and I was blown away by the views. Maisie, Bertie and I took a stroll up there on Saturday and it was so nice. People were picnicking, singing, and there was even a man playing on his french horn. I always like to stand there and take a moment to absorb the view, imagining I’m about to take off and float away over London (except I’m scared of heights). I hadn’t realised how close to the Heath we were when we moved. What a mega-bonus! I think this has to be one of my favourite spots in London. How about you; do you have a favourite place you like to visit and could never tire of?

  4. Have you ever been to Sydney Kerry? I will never tire of the Bondi to Bronte clifftop walk (it goes all the way to Coogee but I'm lazy). It's seriously the most breathtaking view and it renews your soul. Whales and dolphins are an occasional bonus. Kellie xx

  8. I also love the views form our hilly part of South East London. I am loving watching the Shard going up. I can never quite get my head around the views from north London as they are the wrong way round!

  9. Kerry, you must take Bertie to Coram's Fields, near Russell Square - behind the Brunswick Center. I'm taking my two there on Saturday morning. Wonderful place for little ones and there's a great German cafe there too. R

  15. Ok, it's official- we keep missing each other by inches! Banoo and I were on the Heath on Saturday (roving all over, all the way to Kenwood House) but we live right down the road (like, minutes) from Kite Hill and mostly loiter around there when we're not so adventurous. Fun!

If you're ever over there again, should you walk past the tennis courts and see a massive, spastic, flailing, 6'2 blonde mess "playing tennis" (snort snort) then do say hello!

  16. Wow, wonderful view! Casper's parents' summerhouse is a place I truly love. Beach just around the corner and a lot of quietness and just 'nothing'. Peaceful.

In Montréal we have something that looks similar to Kite Hill. It's called the Mont-Royal. I haven't been in a while... your pictures make me want to go and have a look at my city!
    thanks!
