Good day to you. Here are a few home randoms. It is half term at the moment so I’m a bit busy with the small folk plus we’re going to Devon this weekend. My friend is getting married, so it’s get-dressed-up-all-smart time. No idea what to wear, heeelp! And don’t even get me started on footwear. I only wear trainers, so I think I might have to try and fit in a quick shop before we go. Wish me luck! I hope you’re all having a good week :)
P.S. By the way, yes those are red lentils you see there all over my floor. This is becoming an almost everyday occurrence. I usually put some into a baking tray and Bertie likes to ‘scoop’ them up with his diggers, but they generally end up everywhere - and in strange places around the home too. I don’t think I can cope with the sound of hundreds of lentils hitting the floor and scattering much longer! New game required, me thinks.
Congratulation to your friends and good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteThe last picture makes me want to throw lentils on my floor.
Ah thank you - believe me, throwing lentils on your floor is a bad idea!! :)
DeleteI bought the same plate. I also have to say that those lentils on the floor are a pretty eyesight.
ReplyDeleteHave fun this weekend!
Ah yes, it’s lovely isn’t it - good old Ikea! Yes, they do look rather pretty in the picture, but the reality, not so! Have a nice weekend too :)
DeleteHehe, although these lentils look awesome I can only imagine you cleaning up the place!
ReplyDeleteExactly! It’s a nightmare!
DeleteHe he he, that is like when I spill rice or sugar - not fun! That little barn print is very cute. Well, I hate to break it to you, but you might have to buy some low heels (no use scaring you with 5 inchers straight off) - unless its a garden wedding - like lentils hitting the floor, the last thing you want to hear is your heels sinking into the grass! x
ReplyDeleteExactly! The barn print is by Jen Collins - cute isn’t it?!
DeleteYes, you’re right, they have to be flats actually. I just don’t do heels! x
Wishing you a nice shoe picking day and a lovely weekend! Bertie's game looks so cool in pictures, not so sure how you can convince him to give it up. What can be cooler than hundreds of lentils hitting the floor?
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I know, it’s a tough one. He loves it, so knowing me, I’ll probably just continue for a bit and try and live with the lentils!
DeleteI love any peeks into your home, it's so unreal. How good natured and fun are you with the lentils being thrown around every day! (I actually thought it was a really cute spotty floor at first look!) Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks Kellie! Hmm, not sure I’m that good natured and fun really - try to be, but am really crying inside when I see them all over the floor AGAIN!! x x
Deleteha, love the last photo. have fun shopping! x
ReplyDeleteThank you! x
Deletelove the flowers on the tray. so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes, it’s a pretty little tray, thank you :)
DeleteI too just thought you had pretty spotty floors at first. So pretty! Yet so annoying...
ReplyDeleteHehe, yes, pretty in the photo, but in real life - big NO! x
DeleteIkea all over the world ! ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes indeed! I’ve spotted in a few places now - mostly French blogs actually. It’s a sweet little tray - nice to have something floral for a change :)
DeleteBeautiful photos! :o)
ReplyDeleteRed lentils....oh dear!
Oh dear indeed, but thank you!
Deleteare you crazy? stop giving him lentils to play with! you're being too good a mum ;-)
ReplyDeletei hate weddings. wait, that's a bit over the top. i hate dressing for weddings. not that i've been to more than 3. what are you gonna wear then? x
Hehehe - well you got my email ;) !! x
DeleteThose lentils look quite pretty, in someone else's kitchen ;-)
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best with finding an outfit you feel amazingly pretty in!
Yes exactly, in someones else’s home!! Thank you - I need luck, that’s for sure. I’m so last minute - should’ve done this weeks ago!
DeleteI love the picture of the red lentils!! but i can imagine the hassle of cleaning afterwards
ReplyDeleteYes, the picture looks nice, but it is a massive hassle, and they never completely disappear - they keep appearing even when you think you’ve hoovered up the last lentil. Bloomin’ things!
DeleteI love the pictures with lentils, they look wonderfull with wood grain. I got inspired for a new drawing you know? ;-) anyway, i can see what you mean by changing game. Wish you good luck for shoes shopping, i am sure you can find very cute and smart-enough flat shoes for your wedding. Keep us posted andenjoy the day.
ReplyDeletexxx
Hello, and thank you!I hope I can find some nice flats, although it’s very last minute!
DeleteOh it’s nice to know you were inspired by the spotty lentils and woodgrain - intrigued to see! :)
Who knew red lentils could be so beautiful! It's those little moments ;) xx
ReplyDeleteHaha, well I guess so. They look so much prettier in a picture than they do in my home!
DeleteThat red lentils and diggers thing is hilarious - love that boy!
ReplyDeleteI hate dressing for weddings too, I just can't do formal (or anything really that doesn't require jeans!). x
He is definitely a funny little thing, that Bertie!
DeleteYes, I really struggle with smart dress. I never feel like me! x
That's a real lentils mess, but I do love the picture!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on choosing clothes and buying shoes!
It really is! Hehehe
DeleteThank you! x
Those lentils look like confetti :) but wow, the clearing up must be tiresome.
ReplyDeleteMight that lovely tray be Ikea? Lovely. I think I might be suffering from Ikea withdrawal, I seem to spot it everywhere now since I haven't been able to make the trip for a while, too busy really.
Good luck with the wedding, and shopping... some nice simple cute flats are a staple :)
they are quite confetti like actually - cleaning them up is a mare!
DeleteYes, it’s Ikea. It’s really sweet and a nice change to have some flowers (instead of triangles!) Hope you can get an Ikea trip in soon.
Thank you - yes, it’ll definitely be flats :)
Always love seeing glimpses of your home Kerry. And I have that try too. So cute and un-Ikea esque! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Nell. Ah, we should start an owners club for this tray! It’s lovely :) x
DeleteHaha! I think a bit of digging in some lentils sound like excellent fun! Love your blog Kerry! x
ReplyDeleteYou can come and play with Bertie if you like!! :)
DeleteWe have a little problem with rice crisps at the moment. Not so pretty as lentils and a right mess once they've been stood on....Clarks do some pretty good dressy up shoes that don't kill the trainer wearer x
ReplyDeleteOh no, rice crispies - we have that too somedays. Bertie has them for breakfast, but they end up everywhere - and yes, trodden on and all sorts!
DeleteWill check out good ol’ Clarks! Thank you :) x
Good luck on the outfit hunt. I imagine those lentils are a bit like glitter - going to be showing up months later.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly! They are just like glitter! They never completely disappear. Will be finding them for months, I know it!
DeleteLovely pictures and mess : ) , good luck with finding the outfit you want, big hug!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Yes, I hope I can find something I'm comfortable in!
DeleteThose lentils look so beautiful on the floor like that! I think it's a gorgeous photo!...but yes, cleaning up is not so fun ;) Have a wonderful time at the wedding and in Devon, Kerry. It sounds like you're going to have a great time. Finding something to wear is so hard though... I really hate being so 'dressed up' I feel like I'm in a straight-jacket! Hope you find a happy medium :) Kx
ReplyDeleteah, thanks Kylie, yes they look pretty in the photo, but not so in reality - ha!
DeleteYes, hoping for a lovely weekend. It's just the travelling that we struggle with! I'm the same with 'dressing up' too x
love this tray of yours :)
ReplyDeleteas always, lovely details of your daily life.
bon courage for the wedding dressing up and lentils on the floor ;)
Thank you Elisabelle! We had a lentil free day yesterday fortunately! Have a nice weekend :)
DeleteHope the wedding was fun Kerry! I am not a big fan on getting dressed up at all. I don't feel like myself all dolled up, and I walk like a man in drag if I have to (god forbid) wear high heels!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, yes we had a really nice time thanks and I found some nice things to wear, plus flat brogue-style shoes. All things that I will wear again! Nothing worse than spending money on something you’ll wear once. I am just the same with heels and dressing up smart - don’t feel like me at all. Fortunately, I found a nice maxi dress I was really comfortable in and the shoes were from Clarks! So I did pretty well really! Hope you’re good x
DeleteYou snap some amazing photos! I been to your blog before but this is the first time commenting:) What program do you use to edit your photos before you stick them on blog? Also, what camera/lense do you like to work with?
ReplyDeleteThanks
x
Hi Saskia, thank you for your comment. In the ‘about’ section at the top of the page, you can see the camera I use, but I will tell you here anyway - I uses a Canon EOS 500D with a 50mm 1.8 lens. To edit my pictures, I generally use Picmonkey and sometimes Photoshop, Aperture and Snapspeed. Hope this is helpful. Have a nice day :) x
DeleteWow! Great news. Thanks a lot for the post.
ReplyDeleteoh spamety spam :(
DeleteOh my, red lentils! They do look lovely on the ground, like pink sprinkles. I'm sure it's not as lovely picking them up but ah, kids! :) Wonderful shots of your home, as always!
ReplyDeleteHa, yes, they look nice in the picture, but not so nice in real life! Thank you for your nice comment :)
DeleteBeautiful images! I just discovered your blog via A Merry Mishap and love it! Will follow from now on! Cheers from Germany.
ReplyDeleteHi Igor - welcome to my blog, thank you for following and your lovely comment :) The pictures are now working on AMM so you can see everything now! Greetings back to you from London x
DeleteThe lentils randomly look pretty on the floor!
ReplyDeleteThank you - they do, but not so much in reality!
DeleteBeautiful pics and this Bobobchoses jumper !....
ReplyDeleteThank you - yes, love the Bobo Choses playsuit :)
DeleteSuch gorgeous photos, Kerry! I love the creaminess of the light! Hope you had fun all doll'd up at the wedding :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire - I didn’t do too badly for the wedding thanks! x
DeleteI love these photos Kerry! And that tray! I think I need to make another weekend trip to IKEA soon... A handy tip with the lentils (or rice or anything small) is to place an old bed sheet down first, then you just pick up the sheet and tip the contents back in the container they came from. Saves cleaning up all the time ;) I hope you had fun at the wedding :) x
ReplyDeletethank you - yes the tray is really sweet. Hope you can find one in Ikea :) Great tip with the sheet!! why don’t I think of these things! Brain of much! The wedding was lovely thanks :) x
