Cargo - Go - Go!

Hello on a Sunday evening. I hope you've all had nice weekends. We have just returned from a two night camping trip in Cornwall (pics to follow) and have been acquainted with our brand new Christiania two-wheeled cargo bike!

Investing in one of these has been on our mind since we went to Copenhagen a year ago. My husband is a cycling/bike fanatic, so we know it will get tons of use, rain or shine. It will also be great for Seventy Tree post office runs and generally just a wonderful memory-making part of our family. The new baby (when big enough) will be packed in here too!

If you're interested, we bought ours through London Green Cycles, who are an extremely nice and helpful bunch. We decided to go for the 'electric assist' model, as it's more suited to hilly Devon, plus Dan wants to get as many years use as he can from it. We also opted for the two-wheeled version, rather than the more popular tricycle, as Dan wanted it to feel like he was riding an actual bike - he's a very confident, experience rider (unlike myself). More information here.

Anyway, it's a beauty - they've been out on it all day; around the city, food shopping, to the park, along the river. Super!

P.S. I hear that Google Reader is ending tomorrow (1st July), so you can hop over to Bloglovin' and follow me there - or just follow with Blogger (links at bottom of the page).

  7. I love that bike! I want to get one, but we've settled for a Chariot carrier instead. Not nearly as cool but very practical.
