Otto At Four Months

Otto is four months (and one week) old, already. I know everyone says that time flies, but this third time around, it really is whizzing and I wish there was a pause button! Otto is a joy. He is so laid back and contented and really has slotted perfectly into our lives. He has slept with me from day one - we didn't even go down the route of trying him in his own bed/space as from previous experience, it hasn't worked. Therefore, I am so much more relaxed and I don't worry in any way about sleeping issues. Babies aren't made to sleep through the night, so the less time we spend stressing about it, the better life becomes! No expectations.

At the moment, Otto is very interested in holding toys and exploring textures - he keeps trying to swipe my food, so I don't think it will be long before he has a little taster of something other than breast milk. He's also trying to sit up, and I don't think it will be long either. Most of all he loves to be held (pretty much all day) and cuddled and kissed. He's a very sweet-natured little boy and I can already tell he's going to be a lovely person.

  3. I kind of want another baby just so I can ignore all the things I tried to do this time around because I thought I should and just do what feels right. Not sure that's the best reason but still! Love the way you dress him, he's a gorgeous little boy.

  4. Wow, he's super handsome, and that's the cutest little romper he's wearing!
I feel you on the sleep issue... After lots of struggles on that field with Rosa, this time with Julie I hardly tried to do the 'put in bed and just leave'-thing that they always advise you. Doesn't seem to work for my kids! ;)
However now that Julie is 14 months and we still never have had a proper night sleep (co-sleeping as well, but still she's waking up quite often) I sometimes start wondering how long I want to keep doing this... I really hate the alternative, but sometimes I wish the 'natural baby thing' wasn't still waking up like six times a night! ;)

  11. He is so adorable and very stylish! It's so nice to here someone be open and honest about sleeping with their baby and not worrying about what you 'should do'. E sleeps with me now at 2 and has done for months as she just has gone through a stage were she doesn't want to sleep in her own room anymore. x
