Hellooooooo everyone! I am back, and I have missed you! We had such a wonderful time exploring beautiful Copenhagen. Here is a taster of what we got up to. We managed to cram in sooo much (to the extent of complete exhaustion) but thoroughly enjoyed every moment (ok, maybe not EVERY moment....eating out with a 2 year old wasn’t the most fun we’ve ever had, nor were bed/bath time tantrums, but hey-ho - we still love you Bertie!).
Thanks to all your amazing suggestions for where to go, we saw some stunning sights, ate delicious meals (extremely good burgers and the popular Sticks N Sushi in particular), tasty pastries, ice creams and coffees (but not tea - tea was bad!). There was a super day out visiting the Louisiana Museum with its breathtaking surroundings (more to follow). The Design Museum was great, so was Statens Museum For Kunst (we were staying just around the corner). On Wednesday, Heidi kindly showed us around her neighbourhood, Norrebro. Dan celebrated his 31st Birthday out there too, so we spent the day at the Tivoli (more fun for Dan and Maisie to be honest; I hate rides - but, I ate lots of chips, so not all bad!).
Other stuff/Observations -
/ Sadly we didn’t make it over to Malmo :(
/ Our Bugaboo Bee didn’t like the Copenhagen terrain and looked rather puny in comparison to the majority of chunky-wheeled prams out there.
/ Dan made up a story called ‘Mr Cucumber’ for Bertie (the worst and most boring story ever), yet Bertie became obsessed and requested not just Mr Cucumber stories, but songs too! That was hard work. What the heck does a cucumber do eh?
/ We were disappointed that we couldn’t hire a Christiana bicycle - nowhere seemed to have them for renting out. Boo.
/ I was blown away by the architecture at Statens Museum For Kunst.
/ Most Danish people are slim (all that cycling).
/ Most Danish people are good looking (shallow observations, I know).
/ I saw a pervy man on a bike taking ‘discreet’ pictures of a woman in a short skirt lying on the grass (she didn’t know he was there!) I stared him out and he rode off. Yuk.
/ I want to live in one of Copenhagen’s ‘Potato Rows’ houses.
/ It is such a family-friendly place.
/ People look happy.
/ There are so many playgrounds.
/ We spent a small fortune on eating/drinking and the odd train ticket.
So there we are. I have many more pictures to share with you (although I don’t want to bore you too much!). I’ll try and break things up with regular blogging in between if I can.
Bye for now x
P.S. Check out my July links in the sidebar! Some lovely reads!

DeleteNo regular posts - I demand more Copenhagen photographs! I'm just so jealous. But these pictures are some of the most beautiful I've seen you do (and they are always amazing!). And those Potato Row houses are simply stunning. Right Euromillions is on tomorrow, maybe I can win. It's good to have you back Tree family! x

ReplyDeleteYay, we did. Thank you! I know, thoses houses are gorgeous! x
DeleteWelcome back Kerry, we missed you too! Love your observations, I thought that Danish are tall and good looking after watching a couple of Danish series last winter! I also thought they have an explicable taste on lights (ceiling, table and floor lights, basically all types)!! Seems like you all had a nice time. Have a nice week back and happy July x
ReplyDeleteAh thanks! And I so agree about the lights! Happy July to you too xx
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Love everything about your shots and badly want to go to CPH myself right now :)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you Nia - hope you get to go one day! x

ReplyDeleteLove that photo of you and Bertie, Kerry - you have the same look on your faces! :)) Kx
Thank you! Glad it brought back some memories! And yes, I agree about the photo of Bertie and me! x
DeleteWe spent five days in Copenhagen around this time of the year last year, and had an absolutely fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteI loved the architecture, my husband and I had Tuborg beer every day, and we all enjoyed the canal boat rides. Great food (yes, expensive, but very good), and people were very, very friendly.
I enjoyed reading this post. Lovely photos as always.
Oh me too! We didn’t have the beer though! Very much agree. Thank you :) x
DeleteOh what a treat for a Monday morning. I'm looking forward to more already.
ReplyDeleteAh thank you Polly! x
DeleteSo nice to hear you all had a good trip to Copenhagen! I can tell from your pictures that you enjoyed some of the pastry, that Denmark is known for. Hope you liked it:)
ReplyDeleteYay, we did - and yes, the pastries were yum!
DeleteWelcome back! Looks like you had a great time! I can't wait to see more Copehagen pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) More to come!
DeleteThere's just so much to do in Cph isn't there? We didn't even do anything cultural, just walked and ate a lot. I don't think you missed much in Malmo to be honest! I loved Tivoli too even though I don't like rides much either. Gorgeous photos, look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteI know - it’s almost overwhelming! I kept thinking I was missing things! Interesting to hear that about Malmo! Makes me feel better! Looking forward to more of yours if there are any too x
DeleteCopenhagen is one of my favorite city despite its high price of everything. Architect, atmosphere, people are really inspiring!
ReplyDeletehttp://fabnfun.com
And now one of mine too. Loved it! :)
DeleteOh so wonderful to hear your observations and see your photos!
ReplyDeleteMakes me appreciate all the stuff I forget about copenhagen!
Hehe thanks - must be strange reading them as a native!! glad it’s made you appreciate the forgotten things. x
DeleteWelcome back! Sounds (and looks) like you had a wonderful time. People watching is fun (until you spot a pervy man!). Bertie and Gus have matching Bobo tops ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jess! Yay for Bobo! And even better, a cushion cover greeted me on my return - thank you so much!! xxx
DeleteWelcome home,
ReplyDeleteAh, beautiful Denmark; so close, so different, so continental (compared to Norway). I have been everywhere, but in Copenhagen. The Louisiana Museum has been on my bucket list for 25 years. Looking forward to more stunning photos.
Really enjoyed your observations, except from the pervy man, I should say. Good work!
Lilli
x
Thank you Lilli - yes interesting. I hope you will get to the Louisiana one day, it really is worth 25 years wait!! x
DeleteFantastic photos! I agree with the others, more holiday photos! They are fab and I am seriously thinking of going for our family hols :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you! Oh you must - there is so much to do for all ages, and even with the age gap, both of mine were generally very happy, so sure yours will be too :) x
DeleteOh, such lovely photos - Copenhagen is definitely on my list of places to see (although I have a nearly 3 year old so will wait til he's a wee bit older!). Looking forward to seeing some more pics.
ReplyDeleteAh thank you. I hope you will see Copenhagen one day. We found it great for Bertie at 2.5 years. So many playgrounds and so family friendly :) x
DeleteOth,hese are lovely pictures! You have to show us more:)
ReplyDeleteI noticed same things as you did when we were in Copenhagen in May..people are nice&friendly and so pretty&stylish. Oh. And I really loved the fact that everybody biked everywhere:) (but we had the same problem - couldn't find any place where to rent those bikes..)
I hope we can go there again, maybe just me and my partner for a little holiday without kid(s)..that would be great:) Hmm..maybe some day.
And I'm so sorry I haven't send you any email! There's just been too much going on,I hope you understand. But are you still interested having a swap with me? Here's my email: muruinen@luukku.com if you like to send me some email. Have a nice week!
hi Niina - thank you. Yes, we think the same! I’d like to go back just the husband and I one day too.... Such a shame about the bikes. Apparently they get stolen too easily.
Deletei will send you an email. Still very much up for the swap. Have a nice week too x

ReplyDeleteThanks Mariela - many more to follow! x

ReplyDeleteSuch great photos, happy you had a super time. Copenhagen looks as great as I thought it would, I'd love to visit :)
The buildings look stunning. I want to see some lovely blue sky now, it's very gloomy out today.
Look forward to more photos soon.
Thank you Elia. Yes, the architecture out there is amazing! And it has been extremely gloomy here today too. The rest of the week is looking much the same. boo!
Deleteyay, she's back, amazing photos, I want to go right now!!!! will have to wait until December. Will you tell me more about the apartment you stayed in?
ReplyDeleteSkal! x
Hehe, yay!!
DeleteDecember will soon be here! An apartment post is coming tomorrow, but I can email you anyway with more details x
Glad you had a great time! It's such a fabulous city - and Louisiana was amazing.....I wanted the summer house with dock just below the museum gardens....there was a family staying there when I visited and the children were just loving jumping into the sea - brr!!!
ReplyDeleteYay, it was so lovely. The Louisiana was amazing - I was more into the building and surroundings than the actual art to be honest! Yes, that little holiday place with the dock was gorgeous! WE went down onto the beach for a while. Such beautiful, clear, blue waters :)
DeleteHey, Welcome Back! Looks like you had an amazing time and it's great to be able to visit by proxy. Love the photographs too - just gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteHi Elise, yes we did. We very pretty lucky with the weather. It’s much like UK weather anyway! Would have been nice if our trips had coincided! How funny you took almost identical pictures! x

ReplyDeleteThank you my dear! Yes, I guess it has probably changed a fair bit, but sure there’s plenty that hasn’t :) x
