Copenhagen ♡ A Taster!

Hellooooooo everyone! I am back, and I have missed you! We had such a wonderful time exploring beautiful Copenhagen. Here is a taster of what we got up to. We managed to cram in sooo much (to the extent of complete exhaustion) but thoroughly enjoyed every moment (ok, maybe not EVERY moment....eating out with a 2 year old wasn’t the most fun we’ve ever had, nor were bed/bath time tantrums, but hey-ho - we still love you Bertie!).
Thanks to all your amazing suggestions for where to go, we saw some stunning sights, ate delicious meals (extremely good burgers and the popular Sticks N Sushi in particular), tasty pastries, ice creams and coffees (but not tea - tea was bad!). There was a super day out visiting the Louisiana Museum with its breathtaking surroundings (more to follow). The Design Museum was great, so was Statens Museum For Kunst (we were staying just around the corner). On Wednesday, Heidi kindly showed us around her neighbourhood, Norrebro. Dan celebrated his 31st Birthday out there too, so we spent the day at the Tivoli (more fun for Dan and Maisie to be honest; I hate rides - but, I ate lots of chips, so not all bad!).
Other stuff/Observations -
/ Sadly we didn’t make it over to Malmo :(
/ Our Bugaboo Bee didn’t like the Copenhagen terrain and looked rather puny in comparison to the majority of chunky-wheeled prams out there.
/ Dan made up a story called ‘Mr Cucumber’ for Bertie (the worst and most boring story ever), yet Bertie became obsessed and requested not just Mr Cucumber stories, but songs too! That was hard work. What the heck does a cucumber do eh?
/ We were disappointed that we couldn’t hire a Christiana bicycle - nowhere seemed to have them for renting out. Boo.
/ I was blown away by the architecture at Statens Museum For Kunst.
/ Most Danish people are slim (all that cycling).
/ Most Danish people are good looking (shallow observations, I know).
/ I saw a pervy man on a bike taking ‘discreet’ pictures of a woman in a short skirt lying on the grass (she didn’t know he was there!) I stared him out and he rode off. Yuk.
/ I want to live in one of Copenhagen’s ‘Potato Rows’ houses.
/ It is such a family-friendly place.
/ People look happy.
/ There are so many playgrounds.
/ We spent a small fortune on eating/drinking and the odd train ticket.
So there we are. I have many more pictures to share with you (although I don’t want to bore you too much!). I’ll try and break things up with regular blogging in between if I can.
Bye for now x

P.S. Check out my July links in the sidebar! Some lovely reads!

  2. No regular posts - I demand more Copenhagen photographs! I'm just so jealous. But these pictures are some of the most beautiful I've seen you do (and they are always amazing!). And those Potato Row houses are simply stunning. Right Euromillions is on tomorrow, maybe I can win. It's good to have you back Tree family! x

  6. Welcome back Kerry, we missed you too! Love your observations, I thought that Danish are tall and good looking after watching a couple of Danish series last winter! I also thought they have an explicable taste on lights (ceiling, table and floor lights, basically all types)!! Seems like you all had a nice time. Have a nice week back and happy July x

  12. We spent five days in Copenhagen around this time of the year last year, and had an absolutely fantastic time.

I loved the architecture, my husband and I had Tuborg beer every day, and we all enjoyed the canal boat rides. Great food (yes, expensive, but very good), and people were very, very friendly.

I enjoyed reading this post. Lovely photos as always.

  16. There's just so much to do in Cph isn't there? We didn't even do anything cultural, just walked and ate a lot. I don't think you missed much in Malmo to be honest! I loved Tivoli too even though I don't like rides much either. Gorgeous photos, look forward to seeing more.

  20. Welcome home,
Ah, beautiful Denmark; so close, so different, so continental (compared to Norway). I have been everywhere, but in Copenhagen. The Louisiana Museum has been on my bucket list for 25 years. Looking forward to more stunning photos.
Really enjoyed your observations, except from the pervy man, I should say. Good work!

I noticed same things as you did when we were in Copenhagen in May..people are nice&friendly and so pretty&stylish. Oh. And I really loved the fact that everybody biked everywhere:) (but we had the same problem - couldn't find any place where to rent those bikes..)
I hope we can go there again, maybe just me and my partner for a little holiday without kid(s)..that would be great:) Hmm..maybe some day.

And I'm so sorry I haven't send you any email! There's just been too much going on,I hope you understand. But are you still interested having a swap with me? Here's my email: muruinen@luukku.com if you like to send me some email. Have a nice week!
