More Of The Fantastic!

I totally love Fantastic Frank! I want a white elephant wearing sunglasses in my bathroom!

This is the week we move folks, so not sure how much I’ll be around...particularly towards the end of the week. The removal people are coming tomorrow, and we head up to London on Friday to stay with the father-in-law for three weeks (yikes)! And THEN we finally get to move into our new place. I cannot wait for that day! Just need this next month to pass quickly and smoothly! What are we doing?? Eeeeeeeeek!

p.s. Thanks for all your kind words about my new prints. Very pleased to hear you like them. Thank you Deborah for featuring them too....and all you Pinterest pinners who’ve stuck them on your boards!

Stuff

Thank you H&M Christmas vouchers. New t-shirt and cardigan, I like you. I will add, that I am not very good with horses (I’ve had a lot of bad luck with them in the past, although it’s probably pretty funny). However, on my t-shirt = good.

In other news, thank you for all your kind and lovely comments. I have been so bad at replying and visiting your blogs lately. Life at the moment is very stressful with moving, mumming and preparing for various craft markets. I’m a bit tired to be honest. Plus, the paper I use for my prints has been discontinued, so I’ve been having a paper crisis! I might have a little blog rest to catch up a bit (or I might not) :)

Oh Yeah...

I am absolutely loving the new organic, hand-dyed textiles collection by Hazel & Hunter. Yes please! Find her blog here too.

My Mum’s House (Warning, Lots of Photos)!

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night. Here are some little nooks, corners (and Bertie’s), taken last week at my Mum’s house when we were there for lunch. I got very ‘snap happy’ after seeing my brother’s colourful socks hanging over the radiator!
If you look at the picture of the lady in the gold frame, can you see a sinister looking figure in the background? *Shudder* Creepiest thing ever!
And that is my brother and I in an old school photograph...taken about twenty six years ago!
I think my mum needs some new tulips. Hers are looking rather sad.
Bertie always sits at the head of the table in his clip-on seat when we’re here. Look at him waving his toast around, looking very much 'the boss!’ or ‘Lord Chunky’ as he is also known as.

Sunshine & Things

Hello to you all! Wonderful, sunshine arrived at the weekend. Hooray! Amidst sorting out the house for the move, I have enjoyed a new book and rediscovered my glasses....which made me realise just how short sighted I actually am. I’ve been told to book an eye test today. Yes sireeee!

Styled To Sell??

I am bowled over by these photographs, taken from Fantastic Frank (whom I have featured here before). Such care and creativity has gone into the unique styling of this home for the property agent's website. Quite stunning! Well, it certainly works for me! Also featured here.

In other news....Yummus, I've just had french toast for breakfast. What a nice way to start the day? Just about makes up for the fact that I've been up with Bertie since 4.50am. Thank you kind husband! Enjoy your weekends x

Gum!

Recently Alessandra blogged about some chewing gum she had bought, with a little surprise inside. Tom Selleck's face, to be exact. How surreal?! So, when I expressed how much I loved the packaging (and Tom Sellek...am I too young/wrong?) she kindly sent me some; along with some other very sweet things, including hair slides that Maisie is wearing today.
The packaging is the best! In fact, I can't bring myself to open it, it's so neat. I didn't get Tom, but equally amusing, I got Ming The Merciless! Ha, love it! I need to buy more packets, just to see who else might pop up inside. The little things that amuse one!

I Like These

I am enjoying the sweet, characterful goodies popping up in Etsy shop, Pinkrain. Very nice.
As always, thank you so much for your wonderful comments...they really do brighten up my day (especially today, after a bad night. I am tired).

It's Monday

Hello! How are you all, and have you had nice weekends? I hope so. We have had yet another busy and exhausting weekend in London. The Of Cabbages & Kings market went very well though, so all worth it. I met some very lovely and talented people too (Emily and Stacie) as well as some friendly readers of my blog, who came and said hello, so yay! Plus, we've found somewhere to live! Woooo! Or shall I say, I have found us somewhere to live...only Bertie and I have seen the place (slightly nervous about that...eeeeeeeekkkk)!

Thank you to those of you who informed me about my blog being mentioned in the Independent 'New Review' supplement yesterday (Sunday). I wasn't aware of this at all, so it has been a wonderful surprise! The only problem is that I don't have a copy, so if there is anyone out there who might have it and be willing to pass it on to me, I would be extremely grateful. Please email me (via contact link in the sidebar). Or leave me a comment with your email and I will contact you. Thank you!

Anyway, today I am posting a few pictures from one of the latest Freunde von Freunde interviews. I particularly like this home, with its lived-in feel. The random animals lined up in the final picture remind me of my own home (posted here). Great chairs too.

Lovely

Hello everyone, how are you all? Bertie and I have been down with colds and feeling pretty rotten all week. Things are starting to look a bit more spring-like around here though; I can see the beginnings of blossom on the trees, and I have spotted the odd crocus in my garden, so that's positive! I want to thank you all for leaving me such lovely comments. I really enjoy receiving them and finding out who you all are! As often, I am struggling to stay up to date with replies and hellos, but I am catching up gradually. Hello to everyone who has commented recently! Also, if you ever want to ask me anything specific (or just say 'hi'), you can always email me. I have added a 'contact me' link to the sidebar.
Anyway....I have been meaning to share this with you for a while now. I was a lucky lady and won a giveaway on Jennifer's fabulous and very stylish blog, I Art U. I'm a big fan of Etsy shop, No milk Today (who was sponsoring the giveaway). I really like her geometric jewellry, and this amazing necklace was made especially for the giveaway. I absolutely love it! It is so skillfully made and the colours are beautiful. I'm very happy, and can't believe I won! Woooo! Enjoy your weekends x

La Chambre De Bertie! (Bertie + Me In Print)!

Yes we are indeed! And I am delighted with the results. I was approached by the creator of  French, pregnancy/baby/style magazine, 'My Egg' a few months ago. They asked if I would be interested in providing photographs of Bertie's room for a featured tour. I jumped at the chance, of course!

The article talks of how I went about decorating Bertie's room, the furnishings and accessories used, plus general information about me and family life.  I hope that a few of you might spot your own lovely creations presented proudly in Bertie's bedroom; FrancescaAlessandraJaneFlora, you are all there! It concludes with a wish-list that I compiled (although since making it, I have already fulfilled one of my wishes)!

So here we are, in Issue 9. I feel so honored to be a part of this beautiful magazine. It really is full of wonderful things, and so well curated by interesting, creative people...with very good taste! I think that if you read my blog, you'll appreciate the content of My Egg (especially so, if you're a mum and/or pregnant)! See it for yourselves here, where you can view it full-screen and zoom in for a closer look. I just need to get a proper translation, as I don't speak any French (having studied German at school)! A copy of the printed version of the magazine is on its way to me, and I can't wait to see it. But for now, I hope you enjoy! (click on my pics to enlarge).

Bits Of London (4)

This is my final London installment. After deciding to stay an extra day, we dashed out for brunch in what we hope, will very soon become our new neighbourhood. The sun even came out to play (for a short while). A nice treat before heading back to Devon anyway. A couple of you might recognise where we are....I think we were sold on the burgers and milkshakes, so this is definitely the place for us!
